How Plato Creates A New Argument Within The Human Of...

Plato creates a new argument within the borders of egoism and the Guardians. He questions how we know the motives of other people. The guardians must be completely selfless. So the answer to this to create the Guardians from birth to have this selfless attitude. People would take children at birth and control their conditions carefully in order to control and develop their wants and desires. It is like taking a clean slate and drawing whatever you want. Paul Hodapp proposes as simple recipe using five steps to the perfect Guardians. The first step is called the Pre-birth. Paracetamol – Synthesis and Uses Discovered in 1877 by Harmon Northrop Morse at the John Hopkins University, Paracetamol was one of several aniline deriviatives that was found to have analgesic and antipyretic properties (Brodie 23). It was first synthesized by the reduction of p-nitrophenol with tin in glacial acetic acid; however was not used classified as a medication until ten year later (Bertolini 264). Initially, phenacetin, a closely related compound that exhibited similar physiological effects, became the popular over the counter drug for headaches (Bertolini 251). However, later research by Brodie and Axelrod in 1949 found that phenacetin was in fact metabolized into paracetamol within the body (Brodie and Axelrod 60).†¦show more content†¦This is an electrophilic aromatic substitution reaction where a hydrogen on the aromatic ring is replaced with a nitro group. The hydroxyl group on the aromatic ring is an electron-donating group and therefore serves as an ortho-para director. Through the nitration reaction, two products are formed: o-nitrophenol and p-nitrophenol. In comparing the stability of the two resulting products, o-nitrophenol is less stable due to steric hinderance and proximity of the hydroxyl and nitro group to one another. On the other hand, p-nitrophenol does not experience the same steric hinderance since the two group as on opposite sides of the aromatic ring and therefore do not interfere with one another. As a result, p-nitrophenol is the major product of reaction. It is also the product of interest and will be involved in the next step of the synthesis. Subsequently, p-nitrophenol is reduced by sodium borohydride to give 4-aminophenol. In an industrial synthesis, hydrogenation is used for reduction instead of sodium borohydride to produce an identical product(Travis 764). The use of hydrogenation is more efficient when produce larger quantities. In the last step of the synthesis, 4-aminophenol is acylated in a reaction with acetic anhydride. Behavior of Different Students in the Class

Question: Why this class different compare to other classes that I have took. Very different due the professore personality and leadership skills. Answer: Introduction This paper is focused on the peoples behavior in an organization. In this paper, the MGMT 386 class has been taken as real case study. There are various methods such as interviews, and observations are applied to analyze actual behavior of the students in this class. Depending on the remark, it has also been evaluated how this class is different from others. There are various theoretical ideas and concepts have been implemented to build this paper. These theoretical ideas are such as decision-making, managing personal differences to achieve performance, controlling conflict and achieving change. The professor of MGMT 386 class has unique leadership skill and personality, which has inspired all the students in the class. He has his unique capability to manage conflict and implementing change, which makes the course more attractive to the students. Behavior of different students in the class More than 200 students attend the class of MGMT 386 every day. They belong to different communities and different cultures. For this reason, they often exhibit challenging behavior in the classroom. These students require extra support and guidance from the professors. It is the responsibility of the professor to recognize their wrong behaviors and address them appropriate values and norms so that they can change their behavior (Bainbridge, p. 326). Professors need to develop an effective student engagement policy to deal with challenging behaviors. This policy includes behavioral expectations from students, method to promote positive behavior and the severe impact of breaching behavioral expectations (Grace, Arantes and Berg, p. 345). According to (Notgrass, p. 610), there is no common set of behaviors that can be recognized as challenging behaviors universally. For most of the universities, colleges or schools challenging behavior is that activity that interferes with the learning or safety of the students or others. There are some common set of challenging behaviors can be found in the MGT 698 classroom. They are mentioned below: Disruptive behavior: taking phone calls during class, refusing to follow orders given by professors, swearing, tantrums and screaming Withdrawn behavior: steering, shyness, truancy, class phobia, rocking and social isolation Unsafe or violent acts: punching, kicking, fighting with other students, threatening, smashing furniture and equipment Inappropriate social behaviors: stealing, inappropriate conversations, harassing others, inappropriate touching There are various factors, which have a high influence on the behavior of students in a classroom. These factors are like biophysical factors, psychological factors, cultural factors, social factors, professor behavior. The biophysical factors are the medical condition or disabilities (Holten, Ann-Louise, and Brenner, p. 10). Lack of social skills and trauma can be treated as the physiological factors. According to (Snyder, p. 102), it is often found students of a different culture are not able to adopt social practices of the different culture. It may cause risk to a project. The "Sorry Business developed by the Koorie community is a significant example of social factor. The seating arrangement and the level of noise as have a high impact on the behavior of students. The practice of professor and their teaching technique also have a great influence on the students. For example, if the lecture is boring or disorganized then students show very less interest to attend the class. The professor of MGMT 386 has his unique personality and leadership technique, which attracts students to attain his level. In the next section, it will be discussed in details. Uniqueness of the class The MGMT 386 class is very different compared to other classes. The teacher is a very inspirational person. He has an adamant personality and unique leadership skills, which can inspire all the students in the class. He always tries to behave friendly with all students, which makes the class comfortable. The teacher mainly uses democratic leadership style to run the course. According to (San Lam and Higgins, p. 160), Democratic leaders freely share ideas with the team and openly discuss it. This type of leadership practice is very useful in such environments, which changes very rapidly (Holten, Ann-Louise, and Brenner, p. 11). Every day new students join and leave the MGMT 386 class. They come from different cultures and regions. They have their set of values, which can create conflict in the classroom (Snyder, p. 104). Democratic leadership style helps the professor to deal with these conflicts. He encourages students to share their ideas with others. Some specific personality traits make the professor an experienced leader. These personality traits are like honesty, forward thinking, competency, imaginative, straightforward. He is a very sincere person who has a high level of knowledge in his field of work. He has the high-level stamina that influences all the students both physically and mentally (Davies, Krebs, and West, p. 452). He is a very fair-minded and straightforward person. He never hesitates to say right words to the right people. As (Snyder, p. 102) mentioned that, prejudice is the adversary of justice. The professor always tries to avoid discrimination in the classroom related to gender, culture, and religion of students. He always shows empathy towards the feelings, interests, values, and well-being of all the students. He always tries to show creativity in his teaching methods, which makes his class more attractive to students. According to (Herrmann and Felfe, p. 212), it is one of the primary responsibilities of the leaders to develop correct vision and goals for the followers. Professor always thinks about the future of the students. For this purpose, the professor gives some lessons about employability skills, which can help them to secure a job in future. Methods to improve environment of the class There are various methods have been taken by the professor to improve the environment in the classroom. They are like managing personal differences to achieve performance, decision making, controlling conflict, and implementing change. According to (Candolin and Wong, p. 26), the method in which, persons or teams are managed both positive and adverse impact on the performance. The professor mainly uses performance appraisal method in the class to motivate students. In order to improve team performance, the professor assigns students those tasks, which they are comfortable to do. There are various techniques applied by the teacher to resolve conflicts in the class. The professor personally feels that none of the students tries to create conflict in the class. Instead of taking a side, he always tries to remain neutral. He always tries to make open conversation between two parties. As (Davies, Krebs, and West, p. 453) mentioned that, open conversation is the best way to deal with conflicts of behavioral ecology. In order to implement change in the classroom, the professor develops a context of choice that supports change. He always tries to convince all the students about the positive impact of change. For example, professor changes the seating arrangement of the class every week to create a strong bonding within the class. As (Smith and Blumstein, p. 210) mentioned that a healthy relationship is a primary reason behind the success of a team. The Kotters 8-step model helps the professor to implement change in the classroom. At first, he creates the urgency of change and then he makes a powerful coalition convince students why the change is necessary. Then he creates a vision for change and implements it in the class. Conclusion In this paper, an analysis has been done on the class environment of MGMT 386. There are more than 200 students, who attain this class regularly. Differences in their culture and point of view give raise various conflicts. However, the professor is quite capable of dealing with these conflicts. He often makes open conversation between all the students to resolve conflicts. His great personality and leadership capability inspires many students in the class. Effective decision-making capability and implementation of changes make his class interesting to the students. This was the largest and strongest biblical creature in the world. It was a cross etween a hippopotamus and an elephant which caused it to grow even bigger. In the bible it is stated that it was not allowed to enter Noahs Ark because it was a cross between two animals as other creatures like the unicorn. This was interpreted in Gilead by not allowing different races to reproduce or have relationships, racial intercourse. The use of religion terminology for the description of people, ranks, and businesses. It provides an every day reminder that Gilead is a religious society. In most Religion societies women have less rights then men as they cant study or go out f home without a man and they also had to always be well covered. This is also the case in the Handmaid Tale. How to Cancel Your ACT Scores SAT / ACT Prep Online Guides and Tips Think you did horribly on the ACT? Need to cancel your scores? Or are you just wondering what you would do if you ran into an emergency on test day? In this guide, we'll cover three actions you can take to deal with a bad ACT score: canceling scores, stopping college score reports, and deleting existing scores. Likely you would only need to use one or two of these methods if you run into trouble, but we will cover all three to make sure you know all of your options. Option 1: Canceling ACT Scores If you don't think you did well on the ACT, your first option is to cancel your scores. It's the most drastic option you can take if you think you did poorly on the ACT, and it stops your exam from even being graded. What Does Canceling Your Scores Do? If you cancel your scores, this means your test won't be graded and you won't get a score report. Students usually do this if something unexpected happens during the test– for example they get suddenly sick or an emergency pops up. Canceling your scores does not come with a refund, so we only recommend doing this in an extreme situation. You should only cancel your scores if you can't finish the test. Don’t cancel your scores just because you feel bad about your performance. Why not? Since you already paid for the test, if you were able to finish it, you might as well wait and see your test scores.Lots of students walk out of the test center feeling like they bombed the ACT, but they're often pleasantly surprised by their scores. You might be one of them. Plus you can learn about your performance from the score report, which is helpful if you decide to retake the ACT. And if your scores really are terrible, you can delete them later on (a process we'll explain later in this post). Finally, know that most schools do not require you to send all your ACT scores. In fact, you will need to send individual score reports to each school. You can take the ACT up to six times, and you don't need to send your lower ACT scores to schools. Our advice if you think you did poorly would be to wait for your score report but delete your college score recipients, which we will explain below. How Do You Cancel Your ACT Scores? You can only cancel your ACT score on the day of the exam, while you're still at the test center. In order to do this, tell the exam proctor to void your scores before you leave the test center. This will stop your test from being graded, and you won’t get a score. Again, only do this in extreme or unusual circumstances.If you don't tell the proctor to void your score before you leave, there is nothing you can doto stop your test from being graded. Once you’ve broken the seal on your test booklet, that test is yours and you either need to complete it or cancel the score. If an emergency comes up right before the test, just don’t break the seal and you will be able to move your registration to a different date. You can also do this if you can't make it to the test center the day of the ACT. (You can switch your test date online using your ACT student account. You will have to pay the test date change fee, but that's cheaper than a whole new registration.) Option 2: Getting Rid of Your College Score Recipients Once the reports are in the mail, it's too late. One thing you absolutely should do if you feel shaky about your ACT performance is to get rid of your college score recipients. This is different than canceling your score reports. While your ACT will still be graded, you can make sure no colleges see your scores. You can always send the score reports later if it turns out you did well (although you'll need to pay for those score reports). The ACT will send up to four score reports out to colleges of your choice for free as part of your test registration. You can cancel these reports up to the Thursday after your test. If you’re worried that your performance was bad, simply log onto your ACT Student account and delete those college score recipients. This guarantees no scores will be sent to anyone, unless you choose to send the scores later on. You have until the Thursday after the ACT to edit or delete colleges from that list. After that, the score reports will be sent no matter what. So if you complete the ACT but think you did poorly, simply delete the colleges off your score sending list so they won’t see your score. Option 3: Deleting Test Records If you end up with an ACT score you’re not happy with, aside from making sure it’s not sent to colleges, you can also delete the scores from the ACT’s records. You can do this by submitting a written request to ACT. Send a letter with your name and address, and state that you want to delete a test date record. Mail the letter here: ACT Institutional Services P.O. Box 168 Iowa City, IA 52243-0168 USA The ACT will then send you back a form that you can use to delete the test record. This can permanently remove a bad test score from your record. However, if you took the ACT as part of state or district testing, it can’t be deleted. This only applies for testing you signed up for and paid for yourself. Bottom Line If you’re feeling really sick or an emergency pops up the morning of the ACT, the smartest thing to do is to no-show and use your test registration for a later test date. If you start your test but are unable to finish, void your scores before you leave the test center to make sure a score report isn’t created. If you don’t void your scores, make sure to delete your college score recipientsby the Thursday after the ACT to make sure your score isn’t sent to colleges. And finally, if you get your score and decide you don’t like it, it can be deleted from ACT’s records. The new augmented reality game by Niantic, Inc. and The Pokà ©mon Company has taken the world by storm as its international releases continue. For  all its sensationalism, Pokà ©mon Go was actually a  project twenty  years in the making. February of 1996 saw  Nintendo introduce humans to the world of Pokà ©mon in its domestic stomping grounds, Japan. By 1999, Pokà ©mon had  made its way to Europe, and quickly became an international sensation. Picking up its own cartoon series, trading card deck, and comic book series, Pokà ©mon was at the peak of its popularity.  Its handheld game series has continued to be popular, and is approaching the release of its seventh generation. By the time Pokà ©mon had hit its stride, Google-controlled Niantic was creating Ingress, a game not too unlike Pokà ©mon Go. Based on the data from mapping  firm  Keyhole (which became Google Earth), Ingress used location to create  a game based on  holding control over certain physical landmarks that became- you guessed it- Pokà ©mon gyms. Niantic became independent and teamed up with The Pokà ©mon Company (responsible for t he marketing and licensing of Pokà ©mon  since  1998) to bring the world Pokà ©mon Go. Unsurprisingly, the new game has a lot of players asking a lot of questions.
